Nauticus Maritime Museum
The Nauticus Maritime Museum is a maritime science center featuring hands-on exhibits and presentations about marine biology and history. The museum is closed Mondays, open Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; and open Sunday, noon - 5 p.m. Call 757-664-1000 for package information and holiday closings.
Tour the main decks of one of the largest battleships ever built. Launched in 1943, the USS Wisconsin was commissioned at Philadelphia Naval Shipyard until its ownership was transferred to the city of Norfolk. It sailed into Norfolk's port on December 7, 2000 and has been a highlight of the city ever since. Call 757-664-1000 for information about touring the battleship.
Harbor Park sits on the Elizabeth River and is home to many sporting events, concerts, and the local popular event Haunted Harbor Park. Hampton Roads Naval Museum
Operated by the United States Navy, the Hampton Roads Naval Museum showcases over 200 years of history of the fleet in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Naval Station Norfolk
The largest naval complex in the world, Naval Station Norfolk is located near the site of the battle of Monitor and Merrimac in the region of Virginia known as Hampton Roads. The station hosts the largest concentration of naval forces in the United States as well as many other branches of the U.S. Military.
